Filthy-rich air on Netflix? Release date, plot and more about the true crime documentary

The documentary focuses on Ghislaine Maxwell, an accomplice of disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Ghislaine Maxwell: Filthy Rich is directed by Lisa Bryant and Maiken Baird. Lisa Bryant is best known as a director Jeffrey Epstein: Dirty rich and for the production of TV shows such as Gone: The Forgotten Women of Ohio and Crime Unspeakable: The Murder of Jessica Chambers, among other. The trailer for Ghislaine Maxwell: Filthy Rich was published on October 27, 2022 and begins with a voiceover that, contrary to popular belief, provides an insight.

It then gives viewers glimpses of several people being interviewed. Who is Ghislaine Maxwell?

Ghislaine Maxwell is the youngest daughter of former British Minister and late media tycoon Robert Maxwell. Due to her father’s status and wealth, she was able to blend in with London’s elite and was a socialite in the 80’s. After her father’s death in 1991, Ghislaine moved to New York, where she crossed paths with Jeffrey Epstein.

The two were in a romantic relationship for a short time and although it broke up, they remained close friends for decades. Maxwell had largely disappeared from public life by the time of Epstein’s arrest in 2015.

Under the FBI’s radar for supporting Epstein, Maxwell was also named in several court cases by survivors, who accused them of grooming them to be exploited by Epstein.

Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested in 2020 and eventually found guilty of five of the six counts she was charged with and sentenced to 20 years in prison. Maxwell is currently serving her sentence.
