Penn State tweets of the day
We’ll start with the latest real-world news. Penn State head coach James Franklin held his final regular-season post-practice press conference Wednesday night at Holuba Hall. One of the updates focused on whether it rolls back or not Keyvone Lee would be back on the field for the Lions this fall.
“We’ll see. We’d like to have him back,” Franklin said. “Those are medical decisions. I think it’s going to be more of a season decision and things like that.
“There were a few weeks where we thought he was coming back. It didn’t play out like that. So we are just waiting for the medical staff to get full clearance from the medical staff.”
Franklin also addressed the balance between gaining experience as a backup quarterback and being the expected starter for 2023 Drew Allar while also making sure he’s healthy for next season.
“You have to be smart and strategic about how you train and what you do,” Franklin said. “But I don’t think you can live the way you described (than keeping him in bubble wrap). You have to be strategic and have a plan. And of course you don’t want to take any more risks with any of our guys than is necessary.”
In other news, several Penn State players will be involved in tonight’s NFL games. Ryan Bates and DaQuan Jones will play for the Buffalo Bills against Jason Cabinda, Amani Oruwariye and the Detroit Lions at 12:30 p.m. And Saquon Barkley, Cam Brown and the New York Giants take on Connor McGovern, Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys at 4:30 p.m.

quote of the Day
“The strength of our team is our shooting and we can have several people spreading the ground, who can shoot, who can move it to each other. We have to stick to that and I think we’ve done a good job. People also know what our strength is. So their game plan is to try and take that away and I think that’s where we need to be good to take advantage of that. So I think that’s going to continue to be a growth process for us, knowing that we are who we want to be and let’s keep playing our style.
“When people allow us to play that way, we’re really hard to guard, really hard to deal with. We have to do the same if they won’t let us do what some people are trying to do.”
–Micah Shrewsberry, PSU men’s basketball coach.
