The release date of MOB Entertainment’s new multiplayer horror game Project: Playtime has been revealed in a new gameplay trailer. Poppy Playtime spin-off launches into Early Access on December 6th via Steam and takes players on a terrifying adventure at the notorious toy factory, Playtime Co. The minute-long gameplay trailer offers a glimpse of the highly anticipated long-awaited free-to-play multiplayer title that allows players to take on the roles of humans and monsters alike.
Project: Playtime is the next installment in the Poppy Playtime universe. Unlike the first chapters of the series, the spin-off title adds new co-op elements and invites players to take on the role of the gigantic monsters at Playtime Co, the dangerous toy factory that houses monsters in toy form. The game adapts a formula where six players become resource extraction specialists, using whatever methods are needed to stay alive against the manic creatures ravaging the factory.
The upcoming title features some of the most iconic monstrosities we’ve seen in the series so far, including Huggy Wuggy, Boxy Boo, and Mommy Long Legs. All of these monsters have their own unique skills and abilities that will help players hunt down the specialists during “game time”.
The latest trailer offers gameplay glimpses of the multiplayer horror experience, in which six players are tasked with collecting different parts to create a giant toy, while one of them takes on the role of a giant monster. Along the way, Project: Playtime throws everything at it too, including some of the craziest challenges we’ve come across in the previous games set in the world of Poppy Playtime.
The developers have also released a new movie trailer showing the resource extraction specialists in their strange costumes. The video begins with a small Huggy Wuggy coming to life until he is smashed by the Specialist, who then runs off as a larger and scarier Huggy Wuggy starts chasing them down the factory corridors.
Poppy: Playtime has taken the world by storm since the release of the first game. The hit horror title, even recreated in Fortnite in May 2022, invites players into an abandoned toy factory where they try to stay alive by solving puzzles and running away from giant toy creatures. Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 followed the first game and made its debut on Steam a few months ago in the form of a paid DLC.
The second chapter expands on the first game and introduces a new villain, Mommy Long Legs, along with new monsters and challenges that will force players to find new ways to increase their chances of survival while trying to escape from the nightmarish toy factory . Chapter 3, on the other hand, is the next part and is titled Project: Playtime, which will be released in Early Access on December 6th.
